BANK Bristol named in UK Top 10 for Sunday Roasts
Totterdown-based neighbourhood restaurant, BANK has been awarded 7th place in an independent ranking of the UK’s best Sunday Roasts in 2023. Recognised by @RateGoodRoasts as the best Sunday Roast in Bristol, BANK’s wood fired roast has also achieved the city’s first ever appearance in the Top 10, with overall score of 92.5%.
The fifth annual Top 10 from Rate Good Roasts was compiled following a team of experts sampling around 200 roasts around the country. Marking the experience based on 10 categories, including Meat, Vegetables, Sides, Venue, Drinks, Value, Potatoes, Gravy, Service and Yorkshire Puddings, the reviewers gave high scores to BANK in every section, with 10/10 achieved in areas including both service and value.
Introduced by head chef and co-owner, Jack Briggs-Horan in March 2023, BANK’s wood fired Sunday Roasts see joints, veg and all the trimmings going on the grill. Featuring locally sourced meat and big sharing boards, BANK’s Sunday menu takes a British institution somewhere new, while delivering the goods where it counts.
The weekly changing menu features everything from Salt Marsh Lamb Shoulder with Green Harissa and Middle White Pork Belly with Black Garlic & Miso, to Vegan options like Delica Pumpkin with Crispy Sage. Sides include Smoked Garlic Roast Potatoes, Smoked Beetroot Purée, Charred Savoy Cabbage and Yorkshire Puddings.
Dan O’Regan, owner and founder of BANK, commented:
“We never in a million years thought we’d be named in the Top 10 Roasts in the UK. I'm so proud of our team who have accomplished such an incredible feat since we launched our roasts in March. We’re all thrilled to be named alongside such an incredible line-up of chefs and restaurants. It’s a pleasure to start 2024 with such amazing news, and we’re really excited to relight our fire this week and welcome everyone back to the restaurant for the New Year.”
Rate Good Roasts Chief Eating officer, Tom Casson said:
“There's something romantic about a Sunday Roast. It's an event. Whether its an opportunity to see old friends or a family celebration of some kind. You don't want to be let down. As an adult it almost feels like you are going out, out on a Sunday. Personally I want the Yorkshire Puddings big enough to act as a vessel for the Gravy.”
BANK’s Sunday Roast menu is available every Sunday from 12:00 - 17:00. BANK’s contemporary wood fired sharing menu is available from 17:00 - 22:00 on Wednesdays and Thursdays, and from 12:00 - 22:00 on Fridays and Saturdays. Diners can book via www.bankbristol.com.
